For complex business processes and for business analytics, it is common to find data movement between SAP platforms (SAP ECC to SAP BW, SAP BW to SAP BPC and APO, SAP ECC to SAP HANA etc.) and across SAP and other business process applications or databases (RDBMS, Flat files, JSON, XML, EDI etc).

How is it done today ?

The typical data testing strategies include the use of manual sampling, custom developed data testing, validation, and reconciliation processes. Manual sampling does not provide complete coverage and hence cannot guarantee that 100% of data is tested for each data flow during the integration, regression, and user acceptance testing of project implementation phases. Creating a custom developed data validation and reconciliation process for every data feed will impact project schedule and cost. Hence the current SAP data testing approaches are often proven to be ineffective, time consuming and expensive.
